Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin announced that this remarkable health screening will be offered on each citizen's birthday, commencing in 2025. "This screening serves as a birthday gift from the state to the community, conducted annually to facilitate proactive health monitoring," Budi remarked. Since 2023, the Ministry of Health has already initiated a complimentary medical check-up program at puskesmas under the National Health Insurance (JKN), although this program currently addresses only 14 diseases. Beginning in 2025, the scope of the free medical check-up will expand to include 75 diseases. This initiative is designed to significantly improve early detection capabilities and reduce the risks associated with mortality and disability. Siti Nadia Tarmizi, Director of Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Control (P2PTM) at the Ministry of Health, emphasized that the birthday health screening program will extend beyond puskesmas. "Indeed, there is a health screening service program. Initially, it will be conducted at puskesmas and Posyandu, with plans to broaden access to additional healthcare facilities," Nadia stated. The complimentary health screenings will be organized into four distinct categories based on age. Screening will be available for children aged 0-4 years, with a focus on identifying congenital diseases. The following details will outline the specific health conditions to be examined: 1. Additionally, prostate cancer stands as a significant contributor to male mortality in Indonesia. The diseases and health conditions examined in adults are categorized into two age groups. Nadia elaborated that residents who have a birthday and wish to partake in the complimentary health screening in 2025 need only to present themselves at their nearest community health center with valid identification. The staff at the health center will then authenticate the residents' information against the population database, granting them access to the complimentary health screening services.
