President Prabowo Inaugurated 8 Special Envoys

President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday (10/22) officially inaugurated President’s Special Envoys of the President, at the State Palace, Jakarta. The Special Envoys appointed by President Prabowo are as follows:

1. Muhamad Mardiono, Special Envoy of the President for Food Security;

2. Setiawan Ichlas, Special Envoy of the President for Economy and Banking;

3. Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman (Gus Miftah), Special Envoy of the President for Interfaith Harmony and Development of Religious Facilities;

4. Raffi Farid Ahmad, Special Envoy of the President for Development of Young Generation and Artists;

5. Ahmad Ridha Sabana, Special Envoy of the President for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Creative Economy and Digital;

6. Mari Elka Pangestu, Special Envoy of the President for International Trade and Multilateral Cooperation; and

7. Zita Anjani, Special Envoy of the President for Tourism.

8. Yovie Widianto, Special Envoy for Creative Economy 

Special envoys operate under the directives of the president and are tasked with specific responsibilities that fall outside the scope of duties assigned by ministries or government agencies. 

Here is an overview of the roles undertaken by President special envoys’ tasks:

1. Execute specific assignments given by the president that are not included in previously communicated tasks.

2. Administratively report to the Cabinet Secretary.

3. During task execution, coordinate with the president's special staff coordinator appointed by the president.

4. Each task execution is accountable to the president.

5. Must adhere to principles of coordination, integration, and synchronization with government agencies.

6. To ensure effective execution of special staff duties, the Cabinet Secretary organizes their operational framework.

7. The appointment and primary responsibilities of special staff are established through a presidential decree.

The term of service for special staff aligns with the president's tenure, lasting five years. Consequently, when the president's term concludes, so does the service of the special staff.

For the administration of President Prabowo, who will be inaugurated in 2024, the term will end in 2029. Upon completion of their service, special staff are not entitled to retirement benefits or severance pay. While performing their duties, they will be assisted by up to five aides, who must hold positions as high-ranking officials or structural positions at the IIA level. 

The salary provisions for special staff are outlined in Article 40, which states that financial rights and facilities are equivalent to those of high-ranking officials at the IA structural level.

The maximum salary for special staff is set at Rp 36,500,000, which represents the monthly financial entitlement provided by the state to the president's special staff.
