The government has announced that civil servants (ASN) will be allowed to work from anywhere (WFA) or have flexible working arrangements (FWA) starting from March 24, 2025, in anticipation of Eid al-Fitr. Pratikno, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, stated that this decision is outlined in Circular Letter No. 2 of 2025 from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, which permits ASN to work flexibly from March 24 to March 27, 2025. "The circular has been issued, confirming that the Flexible Working Arrangement for ASN will be in effect from March 24 to March 27, 2025," Pratikno said after a ministerial meeting in Jakarta on March 5, 2025.
Additionally, the government has revised the school and madrasah holiday schedule during Ramadan. The break, originally set to start on March 24, 2025, has been moved up to March 21 and will last until April 8, 2025. "Initially, the school holiday was to begin on March 24, but after the revision, it has been advanced to March 21. Classes will resume on April 9, 2025," Pratikno explained.
This revision aims to reduce congestion during the Eid al-Fitr travel period. "With a longer holiday span, we hope to prevent overcrowding during peak travel times," Pratikno added.
