Menpan RB Announces Delay In CASN 2024 Appointments

The Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Rini Widyantini, announced that the government has decided to postpone the schedule for appointing candidates for the civil service (ASN). "The government proposes to adjust the appointment schedule for CASN as ASN employees, with expected appointments at the end of 2025 or early 2026," Rini stated during a meeting with Commission II of the DPR at the DPR building in Jakarta on Wednesday (March 5, 2025). The Minister also assured that all candidates who pass the CASN selection will still be appointed, whether as civil servants (PNS) or government employees with work agreements (PPPK).

According to the plan, PNS candidates will be appointed in October 2025, while PPPK candidates will be appointed in March 2026. "We are ensuring that applicants who have participated and passed the CASN selection will be appointed as ASN employees," Rini added.

After the meeting, Rini clarified that they are not actually delaying the CASN appointments. "It's not a delay; we want to ensure that everyone can be appointed," she said briefly.

She mentioned that this decision was agreed upon with Commission II of the DPR and denied that the postponement was due to budget efficiency. "No, it's not because of efficiency; there are still many things to finalize before announcements," Rini explained.
