The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) is set to announce the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) aimed at combating poverty. Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono stated that this data will be utilized by all ministries to distribute social assistance. "We will announce it soon, and we will begin our community empowerment efforts based on this single data (DTSEN)," Agus Jabo mentioned in an official statement received on Saturday (February 8, 2025).
Agus explained that President Prabowo Subianto has directed a data-driven policy to ensure the effectiveness of poverty alleviation programs. "One concrete step is the finalization of the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN), which will be published through a Presidential Instruction (Inpres)," he said. In preparation for the Inpres DTSEN release, Kemensos is collaborating with Gadjah Mada University (UGM) to tackle poverty.
"Academics play a crucial role in research, mapping affected areas, and developing graduation models for Beneficiary Families (KPM)," he added. Agus noted that the partnership between Kemensos and UGM will focus on empowerment through collaboration with various parties, including relevant ministries and academic institutions. "After assessments and recommendations are made, universities, along with Kemensos and other agencies, will engage with villages to empower them until they become self-sufficient and prosperous," he stated.
Through its research team, UGM has mapped three areas in Java: coastal, agricultural, and semi-urban regions to identify factors that promote KPM graduation. The collaboration between Kemensos and UGM will also expand to include Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).
