The government aims to secure funding for the School Operational Assistance (BOSP) in 2025 for 98 percent of schools in Indonesia. Praptono, the Secretary of the Directorate General of Early Childhood, Basic, and Secondary Education, stated that this target is a two percent increase from the 96 percent coverage in 2024. "In the first phase of 2025, we want to raise this from 96 percent to 98 percent by early January," Praptono said in a YouTube interview on December 25, 2024. He mentioned that the government is making various efforts to speed up the distribution of BOSP for 2025, including strengthening cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
"The BOSP funds are currently being finalized, and we hope to have them ready by next week, which will serve as the basis for distribution," he added. Praptono also noted that the BOSP for 2025 will be distributed earlier, allowing for better use to enhance educational services. "We have started preparations for the early distribution of BOSP funds for 2025," he said. He continued that the BOSP program is now in its sixth year of implementation and has had a significant impact. Therefore, in 2025, the BOSP will continue to support more schools. "It’s hard to believe that the BOSP distribution is entering its sixth year, and it has greatly contributed to the transformation of education," Praptono concluded.
