The government has officially set the average Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) for 2025 at a 6.5 percent increase. This decision is outlined in the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 16 of 2024 regarding the Minimum Wage for 2025. Each province has a different UMP. Some provinces have the lowest and highest UMPs in Indonesia. So, which provinces have the lowest and highest UMPs for 2025?
According to information from the Kemenaker and IndonesiaBaik Instagram accounts on December 19, 2024, Central Java has the lowest UMP in Indonesia for 2025, just like in 2024. The UMP for Central Java in 2025 is set at Rp 2,169,349, up from Rp 2,036,947.
West Java ranks second for the lowest UMP in 2025, with a UMP of Rp 2,191,232, an increase from Rp 2,057,495. Meanwhile, Jakarta continues to hold the title for the highest UMP in Indonesia for 2025, set at Rp 5,396,761, which is about Rp 300,000 more than the previous year's Rp 5,067,381. Papua, Papua Pegunungan, and Papua Selatan share the second-highest UMP at Rp 4,285,850.
