Ministry Of Religious Affairs To Implement Digital-based Madrasah Supervision Starting 2025

The Director of Teachers and Educational Personnel (GTK) for Madrasah at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), Thobib Al Asyhar, announced that a digital-based supervision system for madrasahs will be implemented in 2025. Thobib emphasized that digital supervision is essential for enhancing effectiveness and efficiency. "It is no longer appropriate for madrasah supervision to be conducted manually. This method is not only costly but also involves excessive paperwork and lacks a well-structured system," Thobib stated, as reported on the official Kemenag website on Friday, December 13, 2024.
Thobib explained that the supervision will be carried out through a digital platform called Madrasah Digital Supervision (MAGIS), which is currently in its final testing phase. He noted that MAGIS will be rolled out nationally at the beginning of 2025.
"The MAGIS platform is directly supervised by Kemenag's partner, INOVASI, an educational advocacy organization supported by DFAT under the coordination of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta. We are confident that this platform will be user-friendly and easy to learn and implement," he remarked. Thobib added that the digital supervision initiative is part of the 100-Day Program of the new Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar.
Through this platform, MAGIS aims to enhance the quality of education in madrasahs, making improvements more rapid and comprehensive. "The digital supervision of madrasahs in 2025 is included in the 100-Day Program of the new Minister of Religious Affairs, Mr. Nasaruddin Umar," he revealed. He expressed hope that the implementation of MAGIS would lead to a swift and comprehensive enhancement of educational quality in madrasahs, as it allows for national monitoring. During a meeting with 1,000 madrasah supervisors from East Java in Mojokerto on Thursday, December 12, 2024, Thobib also provided guidance regarding this digital platform.
Thobib urged the Working Group of Supervisors (Pokjawas) in East Java to conduct socialization and technical guidance for all supervisors to ensure the effective application of this platform. (deriz@insightinnews.com)
