President Prabowo Subianto launched the Electronic Catalog Version 6.0 at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. This latest version of the e-catalog is part of the government's efforts to achieve clean governance through digitalization.
"I extend my gratitude to the working groups that have been operating under the coordination of the Chairman of the National Economic Council, who today organized the launch of Electronic Catalog Version 6.0. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and speed," stated President Prabowo.
The President emphasized that starting January 1, 2025, all ministries, agencies, and local governments will be required to utilize the Electronic Catalog Version 6.0. He expressed hope that the adoption of this latest electronic catalog would improve efficiency in the procurement of goods and services for the government.
"This Version 6.0 catalog is expected to reduce procurement costs by 20-30 percent and decrease administrative expenses by 40-50 percent," the President remarked.
Additionally, the President noted that efficiency remains a challenge for Indonesia when compared to neighboring countries. This is reflected in Indonesia's Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICOR), which stands at 6, higher than that of neighboring countries, which have ICOR values of 4 or 5.
The President stated, "This indicates that we are assessed as being less efficient compared to several of our neighboring economies. In fact, this inefficiency is estimated at 30 percent."
He expressed hope that the implementation of the Electronic Catalog Version 6.0 would enhance efficiency in the procurement of government goods and services. The President also called upon all parties to collectively support efforts to achieve clean and transparent governance.
"Let us strive for a clean government through all possible means, including effective management, strong leadership from all sectors, and the utilization of technology. Ultimately, we must be courageous in upholding the law," the President concluded.
Accompanying the President were Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, and Chairman of the National Economic Council Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. (srirahayu@insightinnews.com)
