The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (Ditjen Hubud) of the Ministry of Transportation, in collaboration with the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC), has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the aviation sector through the 9th Steering Committee meeting. This meeting took place on December 5, 2024, at the office of the Directorate of Aircraft Airworthiness and Operation (DKPPU) in Tangerang.
This meeting served as a follow-up to the technical cooperation agreement signed on December 2, 2024, at the residence of the French Ambassador, Fabien Penone. The signing was conducted by the French Ambassador alongside the Director of Aircraft Airworthiness and Operation, Capt. M. Mauludin. The agreement aims to enhance collaboration between the two nations in ensuring the safety and management of civil aviation in Indonesia.
The scope of this cooperation includes the enhancement of aviation inspector competencies, the development of risk-based oversight, the implementation of the National Safety Program (SSP), the application of quality management systems, and the promotion of performance-based navigation (PBN RNP/AR). These programs are expected to assist Indonesia in achieving international aviation safety standards and improving the efficiency of air transport management.
Capt. M. Mauludin expressed his appreciation for the continuation of this strategic collaboration. He stated that this partnership serves as a robust foundation for the future development of civil aviation. "The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is committed to supporting the agreed-upon programs and will facilitate the technical requirements to ensure that this collaboration meets its objectives," Capt. Mauludin remarked.
Meanwhile, Thibaut Lallemand, Director of Asia-Pacific Cooperation at DGAC France, emphasized that the French government will persist in contributing to the enhancement of Indonesia's aviation capacity. "We hope that this collaboration will yield tangible benefits for both parties, particularly in creating a safer and more efficient civil aviation ecosystem," he stated.
This partnership is further bolstered by the contributions of Airbus and Bureau Veritas, which provide expertise to support the implementation of technical cooperation programs. This initiative is expected to strengthen the national aviation ecosystem, enhance safety, and modernize air transport management in Indonesia.
The partnership reflects the commitment of both nations to address global aviation challenges while fostering a mutually beneficial strategic relationship for the future development of the aviation sector. (ferry@insightinnews.com)
