TNI Commander Replaces Defense Attaches In 11 Countries

The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, General Agus Subiyanto, has appointed new Defense Attachés (Athan) in 11 countries, as outlined in the Commander’s Decree No. 1545/XII/2024 dated December 6, 2024. Through this decree, the Commander has designated 11 colonels to fill the Athan positions across these nations.

The appointed individuals include Colonel Inf. Tri Andi Kuswantoro as the Athan of the Republic of Indonesia for Malaysia, Colonel Arh Tony Aris Setyawan as the Athan for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Colonel Arh Zaenal Arifin as the Athan for Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Colonel Arm Robertus Subono has been assigned as the Military Advisor at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations in New York, United States, while Colonel Navy (P) Sumartono will serve as the Athan for China, Colonel Navy (E) Hidayaturrahman for Japan, and Colonel Navy (E) Novera Budi L for Australia.

Furthermore, Colonel Mar Burhanudin has been appointed as the Athan for India, Colonel Pnb Budi Susilo for Russia, Colonel Sus Hendra Gunawan for France, and Colonel Pnb Yose Ridha for the United States. In this reshuffle, the Commander has also appointed a new Head of the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), namely Lieutenant General Nugroho Sulistyo Budi.

Nugroho will be leaving his position as the Inspector General of the National Intelligence Agency (BIN), which will now be held by Major General R. Sidharta Wisnu Graha. Both Nugroho and Sidharta are awaiting the presidential decree before officially assuming their new roles.

The Commander has also tasked several senior TNI officers to serve in various ministries and agencies. These include Major General Maryono as the Inspector General of the Ministry of Transportation, Major General Irham Waroihan as the Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture, and Rear Admiral Ian Heriyawan at the Hajj Organizing Agency.
