TNI Commander Appoints Lt. Gen. Nugroho Sulistyo Budi As Head Of BSSN

The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, General Agus Subiyanto, has appointed Lieutenant General Nugroho Sulistyo Budi as the new Head of the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN). This appointment is documented in the Commander’s Decree number 1545/XII/2024, issued on December 6, 2024. The validity of this decree has been confirmed by the TNI Information Center on Monday, December 9, 2024.

Nugroho, who previously served as the Inspector General of the National Intelligence Agency (BIN), will officially assume his new role pending the presidential decree. His former position will be filled by Major General R. Sidharta Wisnu Graha.

Nugroho boasts an impressive track record, having held several strategic positions within the TNI and the Ministry of Defense. He served as the Commander of the 0733/BS District Military Command from 2009 to 2011 before advancing his career at BIN. In this recent reshuffle, the Commander of the TNI has also made changes to several other high-ranking officers.

Major General Kunto Arief Wibowo has now taken on the role of Commander of the Joint Defense Area Command I, succeeding Admiral Rachmad Jayadi, who has been reassigned as a senior officer at the Indonesian Navy Headquarters in preparation for retirement. The position of Commander of the Presidential Security Forces has reverted to Major General Achiruddin, who previously held the position of Commander of the VI/Mulawarman Military Region. Major General Rudy Rachmat Nugraha now occupies the role of Commander of the VI/Mulawarman Military Region.

Additionally, Lieutenant General Mohammad Fadjar has received a new assignment as the Commander of the Army Strategic Command (Pangkostrad), taking over from Lieutenant General Mohamad Hasan, who is now the Commander of the Doctrine, Education, and Training Command of the Indonesian Army (Dankodiklatad).
