Lovina Beach In Bali To Be Developed As Quality Tourism

, 08 Dec 2024

Lovina Beach, a premier tourist destination in Buleleng Regency, Bali, has now become a focal point for government efforts aimed at developing high-quality and sustainable tourism. The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, emphasized the significance of collaboration among various stakeholders to realize this development. "Tourism development requires time. Therefore, let us work together to prepare adequate activities and facilities to ensure the comfort and safety of tourists," stated Ni Luh.

She further articulated that the development of Lovina Beach aims to extend the length of stay for visitors, which is expected to yield greater economic benefits for the local community. According to her, Lovina should be positioned as a quality tourism destination, distinct from the concept of mass tourism.

"We aspire to transform the image of Bali's tourism, which has often been perceived as inexpensive, into a destination that offers quality experiences," she added. During her working visit to Lovina Beach, Ni Luh inspected various facilities, including public restrooms, a pier, the proposed culinary center, and the pedestrian arrangements around the beach.

Hariyanto, the Deputy for Destination Development and Infrastructure at the Ministry of Tourism, affirmed that the development of the Buleleng area is part of the government's strategy to distribute tourists more evenly across Bali.

We have launched a tourism package known as 3B (Banyuwangi-West Bali-North Bali) to address the issue of over-concentration of tourism in South Bali. The potential of Buleleng, particularly Lovina Beach, is remarkable and can compete with other destinations in Indonesia, stated Hariyanto.

The Buleleng Tourism Office has also demonstrated its commitment to supporting this development. The Head of the Buleleng Tourism Office, Gede Dody, mentioned that they will map out the necessary facilities and infrastructure while prioritizing maritime connectivity.

"We hope that connectivity through fast boats can be realized by 2025," said Gede Dody. With well-planned development, Lovina Beach is expected to become a premier destination that not only increases tourist visits but also supports the welfare of the local community. This represents a strategic step towards steering Bali's tourism in a more sustainable and high-quality direction.
