JPFA Supports Indonesia's Food Security Through Provision Of Animal Protein

PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JPFA) has expressed its commitment to the development of a resilient, sustainable, and inclusive food system. The company's President Director, Renaldo Santosa, elaborated that the organization has long played a pivotal role in meeting the demand for animal protein in Indonesia and the surrounding region.

"By establishing clear policies, enhancing food quality and safety, unlocking the potential of the Blue Economy, and prioritizing the health and nutrition of the younger generation, we can contribute to Indonesia's vision of food security, food sovereignty, and economic growth," he explained.

Meanwhile, Gabriella Santosa, Head of Business Development at Japfa, emphasized the necessity of collaboration among stakeholders to address malnutrition. She noted that prioritizing child nutrition is both a fundamental responsibility and a wise economic investment. Every rupiah invested in nutritious food can yield significant benefits, making it a top priority for both the public and private sectors. "This is a very important moment for all of us, and we appreciate the government's commitment to addressing the complexities of this program," she remarked.

The company has recently collaborated with the Center for Health and Nutrition Studies at the University of Indonesia to assess the nutritional adequacy of children across the nation. More than 1,000 children have received nutritious meals through three models: Ready to Cook, Ready to Eat, and Self-Managed.

"The study we conducted analyzes the production process, nutritional fulfillment, distribution effectiveness, and costs. We hope this initiative will provide insights for future efforts to reduce stunting, and Japfa will continue to commit to supporting such initiatives and further collaborations with various stakeholders," stated Gabriella.

She emphasized that Japfa is dedicated to safety and quality throughout its production chain. By integrating feed production, breeding, farming, and processing, Japfa ensures complete traceability and control at every stage of the production process. "The company adheres to strict certification standards, including NKV, ISO 22000, and HACCP, ensuring that the animal protein produced is not only nutritious but also safe for consumption," Gabriella added.
