To Anticipate Christmas And New Year Holiday, 37 InJnourney’s Airports To Operate 24/7

Saturday, 07 Dec 2024

PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), also known as InJourney, has confirmed the readiness of its airports for the upcoming Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 holiday period. Through its subsidiary, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, or InJourney Airports, the company will operate a total of 37 managed airports around the clock. "We are preparing our airports; all 37 will operate 24 hours a day, with this extended operating schedule commencing over an 18-day period from December 19 to January 5, 2025," stated InJourney's President Director, Maya Watono, during a press conference at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises in Jakarta on December 6, 2024.

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport are expected to be the busiest airports during this holiday season. The passenger traffic at Soekarno-Hatta is projected to increase by 8.92 percent compared to the previous year's holiday period.

Meanwhile, passenger movements at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport are anticipated to rise by 12.05 percent compared to last year. InJourney forecasts that the peak departure day will occur on December 20, 2024, while the peak return day is expected on January 4, 2025.

To accommodate the anticipated increase in passenger numbers during the holiday season, InJourney will deploy a total of 15,998 personnel, including 336 customer service representatives, 2,883 facility care staff, and 381 trolley attendants. "With adequate personnel preparation, we hope that all passenger touchpoints will be well-served during the peak season," Maya added.

PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) has announced a reduction in airport service fees for airline passengers and carriers.

This initiative represents a significant step by InJourney Airports to directly influence the decrease in airfare prices.

It aligns with the Minister of Transportation's Letter Number PR.303/1/20/MHB/2024 regarding the Implementation of Discounts on Airport Service Fees.

The reduction for airline passengers consists of a 50 percent discount on the Passenger Service Charge (PSC), applicable across all 37 InJourney Airports and for all domestic economy flight routes. This offer is valid for ticket bookings made between December 1, 2024, and January 3, 2025, with flights scheduled during the Christmas and New Year transportation period from December 19, 2024, to January 3, 2025.

Faik Fahmi, the President Director of InJourney Airports, stated that the PSC is a fee for services provided at the airport, which is included in the ticket price. In essence, when prospective passengers purchase their flight tickets, the ticket price already encompasses the PSC fee.

The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, the Ministry of Transportation, and InJourney, as the holding company for state-owned enterprises in the aviation and tourism sectors, are in favor of reducing airfare prices to facilitate public mobility and stimulate the economy. In line with this initiative, InJourney Airports, which operates 37 airports, has implemented a 50% discount on the PJP2U service fee, which will subsequently impact the overall airfare.

In addition to the PJP2U discount, InJourney Airports has also introduced a 50% reduction in the service fees for Landing, Placement, and Storage of Aircraft (PJP4U) for airlines. This discount will be applicable across all InJourney Airports during the holiday transportation period from December 19, 2024, to January 3, 2025. (putri@insightinnews.com)
