The Head of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, provided a press statement following the Plenary Cabinet Meeting led by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Presidential Office in Jakarta on Monday afternoon, December 2, 2024. The meeting addressed various strategic issues, including the outcomes of the President's visits to several friendly nations.

Hasan elaborated that President Prabowo's visit to the People's Republic of China marked the first agenda as a gesture of respect towards regional traditions. "The President received a warm welcome, even on a day that might not typically be reserved for receiving guests in China," Hasan noted.

In addition to China, the President also visited the United States to emphasize Indonesia's openness to collaborating with various countries without aligning with any specific defense bloc.

"The President was granted equal access to any country, which includes opportunities for investments and investors from the United States," he added. During a meeting with the Prime Minister of India, the President accepted an invitation to attend India's National Day on January 26, 2025. Furthermore, Indonesia has been invited to send a military contingent to participate in the National Day parade.

"The President plans to send the military to take part in the parade on India's National Day," Hasan revealed. Another noteworthy aspect is the President's commitment to supporting environmental conservation. During his meeting with the King of the United Kingdom and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the President donated 20,000 hectares of his private land in Aceh for elephant conservation, which is double the area requested by the WWF.

Prabowo stated that it is not 10,000; he subsequently donated 20,000 hectares of his land for elephant conservation, which will be managed by WWF, he explained. The President also emphasized the government's priorities in four main sectors: providing free nutritious food to the community, strengthening food and energy security, and accelerating downstream processing.

"This will serve as the foundation for a prosperous Indonesia in the future," concluded Hasan. In the press statement, Hasan Nasbi was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid. (srirahayu@insightinnews.com)
