Tuesday, 03 Dec 2024

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established a new directorate general, namely the Directorate General of Economic Relations and Development Cooperation. Foreign Minister Sugiono stated that this new directorate has been created to enhance the optimization of various bilateral cooperation processes between Indonesia and other countries.

"This directorate is being developed to strengthen the coordination and synchronization of foreign economic relations, as there have been several evaluations of the mechanisms and processes that have occurred, ultimately involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," Sugiono remarked during a working meeting with Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, December 2, 2024.

He indicated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will become more proactive in providing the necessary facilities with the establishment of this new directorate general. In fact, various economic and development collaborations between Indonesia and other nations have already been frequently undertaken.

"Therefore, we believe that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs comprehends all these processes from the outset," said the Gerindra Party politician. The Ministry has also often been involved in the negotiation processes, making the Directorate General of Economic Relations and Development Cooperation essential for understanding the processes from start to finish. "Thus, if there are facilities that we need to provide, or assistance that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs needs to offer, we will all be aware from the beginning," Sugiono added.
