President Prabowo Subianto plans to provide advanced televisions for all schools in Indonesia. He explained that these televisions will broadcast the best lessons for students. "God willing, soon I will place advanced televisions in every school across Indonesia," Prabowo said during the National Teacher's Day celebration on Thursday (November 28, 2024).
Prabowo hopes that with these advanced televisions, no school will lack access to essential lessons or knowledge needed for human resource development. He also asked schools to be patient as they wait for the televisions, which should arrive in about 3 to 4 months.
"There should be no remote school, no school with a shortage of teachers, that cannot provide the best lessons for its children. I ask for your patience. Just wait, about 3-4 months more," he stated. Prabowo acknowledged that distributing televisions throughout Indonesia will be a challenge for the ministers in the Red and White Cabinet.
However, he emphasized that serving the people is an honor, just like being a teacher. "I see everyone will be stressed. But that's okay. You are heroes for the people and our teachers. Serving the people is an honor. Even if we die serving the people, that is an honor for us," he expressed. Prabowo added that schools are the center of national development, whether in villages, districts, provinces, or cities.
Therefore, all schools must have good, clean buildings and adequate learning facilities. "Schools must be good, clean, and well-maintained. There should be no schools with collapsing roofs, and no schools without toilets for the children," Prabowo stated.
