Pegadaian Gallery 24 Launches 12.5 Kg Gold Bars

PT Pegadaian, through its subsidiary Galeri 24, is prepared to assist individuals seeking to acquire large-denomination gold bullion as an investment instrument. Previously, the largest denomination available was 1 kg; however, Galeri 24 now offers gold bullion weighing 12.5 kg. "Our aim in introducing the 12.5 kg gold bullion is to provide a new variety of gold denomination options and more efficient pricing, catering to both investment purposes and the facilitation of gold transactions, whether physical or digital," stated Elvi Rofiqotul Hidayah, the Director of Marketing and Product Development at Pegadaian, in an official statement on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Elvi further explained that the launch of the 12.5 kg gold bullion is part of an initiative to provide globally recognized gold products, as international standards allow for gold bars up to 12.5 kg.

As a popular investment choice, the price of gold has been rising significantly. Elvi noted that due to the liquidity of gold and the convenience offered by Pegadaian, individuals in need of funds can pawn their gold at Pegadaian outlets for a specified period or sell it back at Galeri 24. "Customers who have purchased gold products from Galeri 24, whether jewelry or gold bullion, can use them as collateral at Pegadaian."

The community can also engage in buyback transactions at Galeri 24, which offers competitive pricing, Elvi noted. Additionally, there is another advantage for customers purchasing gold bars at Pegadaian Galeri 24; if the purchase receipt is lost, Galeri 24 will still accept the sale as long as the product is from Galeri 24.

Galeri 24 is a subsidiary of Pegadaian that operates in the manufacturing and service sectors, specializing in the refining, production, and retail of gold and jewelry. As of October 2024, Galeri 24 has produced a total of 3.3 tons of gold, representing a 153 percent increase compared to 1.3 tons in 2023.
