The Acting Governor of Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, along with the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Jakarta Province, has approved the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda) concerning the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) for the Fiscal Year 2025, amounting to IDR 91.34 trillion. This agreement was formalized through the signing of the approval during a Plenary Meeting held at the Jakarta DPRD building in Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, November 28, 2024. The signing was conducted by the Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD, Khoirudin, alongside Deputy Chairpersons Basri Baco and Ima Mahdiah. Subsequently, the Raperda APBD 2025 was symbolically handed over by the DPRD leadership to Teguh Setyabudi.
"I express my gratitude and extend my highest appreciation to the leadership and all members of the DPRD for their diligence, precision, and commitment in reviewing the entire substance of this Raperda, enabling its timely completion," stated Teguh on Thursday.
He emphasized that the provincial government will follow up on the suggestions and recommendations from the DPRD to enhance the APBD. "We will address all suggestions, comments, and recommendations provided by the council members for the refinement of the Draft APBD for the Fiscal Year 2025," he added.
The 2025 Regional Budget will be concentrated on several priority programs, including:
- Enhancement of educational quality
- Social assistance for the community
- Provision of adequate and affordable housing
- Development of green open spaces
- Improvement of public transportation networks to alleviate congestion and air pollution
- Addressing stunting in children
- Flood management through the enhancement of river capacity and drainage systems
- Improvement of healthcare services
- Stability and resilience in food supply
- Tackling unemployment through competency-based job training with certification from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP)
This budget is anticipated to yield positive impacts for the residents of Jakarta and to address various strategic issues in the capital. (srirahayu@insightinnews.com)
