Government Targets IDR2.5 Trillion Transaction At Indonesia Expo 2025 Exhibition In Saudi Arabia

Wednesday, 27 Nov 2024

PT Wahyu Promo Citra, in collaboration with the Indonesia Saudi Arabia Business Council (ISABC) and with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, along with the Ministry of Trade, is set to host the 2nd Made in INDONESIA EXPO from April 17 to 19, 2025, at the Arena Venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Muhammad Hasan Gaido, President of ISABC, stated that the 2nd Made in INDONESIA EXPO 2025 aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which serves as a roadmap for Saudi Arabia towards a sustainable economic future, ensuring equal rights and high status for its citizens. The organization aims to achieve a trade transaction value of IDR 2.5 trillion during the exhibition.

"Initially, we set a target of IDR 500 billion in transactions, but as time has progressed, we are optimistic about reaching IDR 2.5 trillion," he remarked during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. This optimism is bolstered by the inclusion of the Main Weapon System (Alutsista) from the Ministry of Defense and agricultural products from the Ministry of Agriculture, which will be showcased for sale in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, several small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the furniture sector will also participate in the event.

This exhibition will undoubtedly be highly beneficial for Indonesian entrepreneurs seeking to market their premium products in Saudi Arabia. We hope that all parties involved can fully leverage the opportunity to participate in the exhibition and engage in business matching to identify the precise needs of buyers, stated Hasan.

Furthermore, he noted that in recent years, there has been a significant interest among the Saudi Arabian populace in various Indonesian products. However, this interest has been hampered by a lack of Indonesian suppliers meeting the demand for these products. Hasan also mentioned that the current policies between the two countries are very favorable, providing opportunities for Indonesian products to enter the Saudi market. This includes the implementation of mandatory policies regarding catering, accommodation, and transportation for Indonesian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. (putri@insightinnews.com)
