Build Your Dream (BYD) has confirmed that its sub-brand Denza will be launched in Indonesia in the first quarter of 2025. This brand targets the premium segment, featuring advanced technology and new energy solutions.
Eagle Zhao, President Director of PT BYD Motor Indonesia, stated that in 2025, Denza, BYD's luxury brand, will be introduced to both Indonesia and Malaysia. With cutting-edge technology, exceptional performance, and luxurious design, this brand aims to provide a new driving experience for consumers and set a new standard for luxury new energy vehicles.
"This is not merely an extension of BYD's brand strategy, but also our commitment to long-term sustainable development in these two markets," Eagle remarked at BYD's headquarters in Shenzhen, China, on Monday, November 25, 2024. Through ongoing innovation and localization, Eagle emphasized that BYD is dedicated to delivering a more environmentally friendly, intelligent, and comfortable mobility experience for Indonesian consumers, while accelerating the country's transition to electrification.
"We are confident that through collaborative efforts, we can provide a range of products and technological needs for consumers, and together create a greener, smarter, and more sustainable future," Eagle added. Luther T. Panjaitan, Head of Public & Government Relations at PT BYD Motor Indonesia, further noted that Denza is indeed set to launch in Indonesia in the first quarter of 2025, although discussions regarding which models will be introduced first are still ongoing.
Denza currently offers several models; however, it is highly likely that the Denza D9, a premium electric MPV aimed at consumers in Indonesia, will be the one introduced. We will have to wait until early 2025 for further confirmation, as stated by Luther at the same location. It is important to note that the Denza D9 made its debut at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024.
In terms of dimensions, the BYD Denza is comparable to the Toyota Alphard or Lexus LM 350h, measuring 5,250 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,920 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. The vehicle is built on BYD's signature e-platform, featuring a blade battery configuration with a capacity of 103 kWh. With this capacity, the Denza D9 is claimed to have a range of up to 620 km.
