The increasing prevalence of data theft, which results in both material and non-material losses for the community, including the existence of illegal online loans, poses significant challenges to the growth and advancement of the peer-to-peer lending fintech industry in the country. There is a pressing need for financial technology services that are safe, legal, and trustworthy, as well as protected by regulations referenced in the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) concerning the security of electronic transactions through certified electronic signatures (TTE).
In response to this situation, the financial service provider UangMe has partnered with the certified electronic signature startup, Privy, to address the need for personal data security and user convenience.
"We welcome the appointment of Privy as the electronic signature provider on the UangMe platform. This indicates that Privy is increasingly recognized by the peer-to-peer sector as a leading provider of digital trust services in the country, prioritizing security and convenience for its users," stated Marshall Pribadi, Co-Founder & CEO of Privy, on Monday, November 25, 2024.
User data security, according to Marshall, is a primary concern for Privy in delivering certified TTE technology services. Privy automatically adjusts the data on electronically signed documents with its own database. This process is implemented to ensure that the signatory corresponds with the user's PrivyID.
Marshall expressed the hope that UangMe's initiative will inspire other parties to establish similar collaborations with Privy. This would facilitate the collective development of a more advanced and trustworthy digital technology ecosystem in the future. (putri@insightinnews.com)
