Among these new routes are flights to Phu Quoc in Vietnam, Padang in Indonesia, and Shantou in China. The service to Phu Quoc is set to commence on December 20, 2024, while flights to Padang will begin on January 6, 2025. The airline will utilize the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft for these routes. In addition, flights to Shantou, China, are scheduled to start on January 16, 2025, using the Airbus A320. This information was shared by Leslie Thng, Chief Executive Officer of Scoot. He noted that Phu Quoc is renowned for its rare wildlife and pristine beaches, making it an ideal tropical paradise for travelers seeking adventure or relaxation. Furthermore, the island is home to Phu Quoc National Park, recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Currently, Phu Quoc is the only destination in Vietnam offering a 30-day visa-free policy, providing easy access for international tourists. "Starting December 20, 2024, Scoot will operate flights to Phu Quoc three times a week," stated Leslie. Two additional flights per week will be introduced starting January 25, 2025, bringing the total number of weekly flights between Singapore and Phu Quoc to five, he added. Meanwhile, Padang serves as the capital of West Sumatra and is renowned for its exceptional Indonesian cuisine, particularly Nasi Padang. The city is also famous for its Minangkabau culture and stunning beaches that are ideal for surfing. Whether one is a lover of culture, nature, or culinary delights, Padang is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. "Scoot will operate flights four times a week to Padang," Leslie stated.
