This statement was made to the media following his meeting with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in Washington, D.C. "I continue to advocate for a two-state solution, and they also agree," President Prabowo remarked. He expressed hope for an immediate ceasefire to establish a more stable peace in the region. "We are working towards achieving a ceasefire soon," the President stated. Regarding the South China Sea issue, President Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty while prioritizing cooperation with all parties involved. "We respect all powers, but we will also maintain our sovereignty," he asserted. Furthermore, President Prabowo emphasized that collaboration and cooperation should take precedence over confrontation or conflict. He believes that this can be achieved by fostering trust and mutual respect among the nations involved. "I am convinced that collaboration and cooperation are always preferable to confrontation or conflict. Of course, this requires effort; it will not happen on its own. There must be initiatives to build trust and respect for one another," he stated.
