This meeting was part of President Prabowo's official working visit to the United States aimed at strengthening the bilateral relations between the two nations. President Prabowo arrived at the White House through the North West gate, accompanied by a motorcade. As the vehicle entered the White House grounds, a line of soldiers carrying flags from all 50 U.S. states rendered honors, symbolizing the appreciation and camaraderie between the two countries. The motorcade then halted in front of the West Wing Portico, where President Prabowo alighted and was greeted by the Acting Chief of Protocol of the United States, Ethan Rosenzweig. Following this, President Prabowo was escorted to the Roosevelt Room to sign the presidential guestbook, marking a formal acknowledgment of his visit. This moment signified the initial formalities of a high-level meeting between two nations with a long-standing diplomatic history. From the Roosevelt Room, President Prabowo proceeded to the Oval Office, where he was warmly welcomed by President Joe Biden. The two leaders exchanged a cordial handshake before commencing their discussions. This meeting provided an opportunity for both leaders to discuss a range of strategic issues, including collaboration in various fields, all within a friendly and respectful atmosphere. Accompanying President Prabowo at the meeting were Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. On the other hand, the United States delegation included Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs Jake Sullivan, U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia Kamala Lakhdir, Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Dan Kritenbrink, and Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for East Asia and Oceania Mira Rapp-Hooper.
