By reza@insightinnews.com General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Chief of Police, has officially appointed Commissioner General Ahmad Dofiri as the Deputy Chief of Police. Prior to this appointment, Ahmad Dofiri served as the Inspector of General Supervision (Irwasum) of the National Police. He succeeds Agus Andrianto, who has transitioned to the role of Minister of Immigration and Corrections. This announcement was made on the evening of Tuesday, November 12, 2024, via a telegram bearing the number ST/2517/XI/KEP./2024. The telegram included a list of personnel changes affecting 55 high-ranking (pati) and mid-level (pamen) officials within the National Police, effective November 2024, and was signed by the Chief of Police. Among those promoted are Commissioner General Ahmad Dofiri as Deputy Chief of Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo as the new Irwasum of the National Police, Inspector General Chryshnanda Deilaksana as the head of the National Police Education and Training Institute, Brigadier General Cahyono Wibowo as the Head of the Coordination and Supervision Task Force, and Police Commissioner Surya Kumara as the Head of the Research and Development Center of the National Police. Ahmad Dofiri is a graduate of the Police Academy (Akpol) class of 1989. Throughout his career, he has held various strategic positions, beginning as the Head of Intelligence Unit at the Tangerang Police Station in the Metro Jaya Regional Police in 1990, and subsequently serving as the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at the Tangerang Police in 1991. In 2005, Dofiri was appointed as the Head of the Subdivision of Personnel Management in the Human Resources Division of the National Police. Two years later, in 2007, he took on the role of Chief of Police in Bandung, and in 2009, he became the Deputy Chief of Police for the Greater Bandung area as well as the Chief of Police in Yogyakarta. His career progressed as he served as the Head of the Domestic Affairs Bureau of the Human Resources Division of the National Police in 2010, subsequently being entrusted with the position of Chief of the Presidential Security Detail of the National Police. In 2012, he held the position of Senior Policy Analyst in the Personnel Development Division of the National Police and was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Police for the Special Region of Yogyakarta in 2013. From 2014 to 2016, Ahmad Dofiri served as the Head of Personnel Development in the National Police before ultimately becoming the Chief of Police for Banten and the Head of Legal Affairs in the Legal Division of the National Police. In 2016, he was appointed as the Chief of Police for the Special Region of Yogyakarta and took on the role of Assistant for Logistics to the Chief of Police in 2019. His career continued to ascend as he was appointed Chief of Police for West Java in 2020, followed by the position of Head of Intelligence and Security for the National Police in 2021. Most recently, in 2023, he assumed the role of Inspector for General Supervision within the National Police, solidifying his status as a seasoned officer dedicated to maintaining security and enhancing professionalism within the organization.
